  12. Howard Katz has the right idea:  two separate distribution lists, one for news,
  13. announcements, and other items of general interest, the other for higher-level
  14. discussions of a more technical nature.  I would add that all items sent to the
  15. “techie” list should also be posted to a BBS folder, either by the sender or
  16. (preferably) by some duly designated message librarian.  That way, those who
  17. choose to subscribe only to the news channel could also have access to the
  18. technical transactions whenever they wish.  This type of two-tiered arrangement
  19. would seem to serve everyone’s needs without undue inconvenience to anyone.  I
  20. was about to suggest it myself when Howard beat me to it.
